So you want to be a speaker...

Many of you dream of someday being on stage at a Perform Better event, or perhaps creating a speaking career that will share your beliefs, your methods and your ability to help others in the industry who struggle to be successful... well, we have a suggested path if that is your dream.

Over sixty percent of the speakers at the all the fitness business and coaching events in the last years we at Perform Better have either offered, or have attended, such as the major mentorship groups or emerging business workshops, have gone through the Perform Better Speaker Development Workshop, taught by Thomas Plummer.

This three-day event, hosted at the Perform Better offices in Providence, is your chance to lay the foundation of a speaking career that can take you on a new journey in your fitness life. Mastering the basics, such as your personal speaking brand, content, subject, stage presence, voice control and slide development, and so much more, is what you need to get going in the next step of who you are and how you can contribute to the fitness world.

This workshop is also about leadership and developing your personal persuasion skills. It doesn’t matter if you are standing in front of your team of employees, or making a presentation to investors or a bank, how you express yourself is the basic tool you need to get what you want out of your life and career. Good speakers are not born, they are created, and this is the workshop you need to get it all going.

Experienced speakers can also benefit from a return for upping your skill levels. We have had many of our speakers attend four or more times, coming back for a push upward and advanced skills it takes to rise another level in the speaking community. They get some experience, then want to grow yet again, which is why they return so often.

The course is taught by Thomas Plummer, who has trained many of the industry legends, such as Bill Parisi, Don Saladino, Alwyn Cosgrove and more, as well as the rising stars such as Sarah Fisher Reynolds, Billy Hofacher, Kevin Duffy and others featured in our Summits this year. Thomas has just one goal in these workshops... help you become one of the best communicators on stage and daily in your career.

The power behind this course is learning how to present in a shorter format standing up and getting your point across clearly, effectively and efficiently. Speaking is about moving an audience from where they are to where you want them to be and there is a science behind this that can be taught. You will also learn how to build your personal brand, give strong front of the room presentations at trade shows, build presentations, and develop the tools you need to be a master communicator over time.
